Q1. Who can enter the Creative (Freelance) Design Awards?

A. The World Brand Design Society Creative Design Awards are for all types of freelancers and freelance teams, e.g. Freelancer Designers, Freelancer Creatives, Freelance Brand Designers, Freelance Graphic Designers, Freelance Packaging Designers, Freelancer Illustrators, Freelancer Photographers, Freelance Writers
Freelance Consultants, Freelance Art Directors, Freelance Creative Directors, Freelance Front end Engineers, Freelance Software Engineers, Freelance UX Designers, Freelance UI Designers, Freelance Consultants, Freelance Project Managers and Freelance Collective Teams

Q2. What is an a Freelancer and a Freelance Team?

A. Essentially, a Freelancer is someone who works for themselves and provides their services as an individual is as part of a collective. Freelancers can be sole traders or limited companies, a type of enterprise that is owned and run by one person. A Freelance Team are just a collection of freelancers or also known as freelance collectives who occasionally work together on projects.

Both Freelancers and Freelance Teams are welcome to enter the awards. Important to note that Freelancer must trade under their own name or entity as a single individual to be considered a freelancer and for you to enter the awards.

Q3. What work can we enter?

A. Any designed brand asset or project deliverables, large or small, that has been created by a freelancer designer or freelance team can be entered in the World Brand Design Society Creative Design Awards. Entry for the main categories include:

• Brand Identity Design
• Packaging Design
• Graphic Design
• Digital Design
• Spatial Design
• Creative Campaign
• Illustration
• Typography
• Photography
• Writing

Q4. How old can the project be when entering?

A. The designed brand assets or project deliverables must have been published or gone live in the last three years starting from the final deadline date of that year of entry, that being the 1st December.

Q5. Can we enter our work into multiple categories with the same piece of work?

A. Yes, you may submit your piece of work into as many categories as you wish.

Q6. How old can the project be when entering?

A. The designed brand assets or project deliverables must have been published or gone live in the last three years starting from the final deadline date of that year of entry, that being the 1st December.

Q7. Is there a limit to the number of entries we can submit?

A. You can submit as many works/entries into the awards as you may wish.

Q8. Does the entry need to be in English?

A. Yes, all submissions must be in English; submissions in other languages will not be considered.

Q9. Do we have to send you a physical sample of assets or product?

A. No, is not required that you send the actual sample of your product, asset and project deliverables to the competition. Images and a description of the product are sufficient. However, you have to prove published work is published work, especially if your visuals are CAD visualised. Judges have the right to ask for samples if they believe a stated published work is a concept.

Q10. Who owns the copyright for submitted materials?

A. Copyright and all other rights remain with the freelance designer or freelance team. However, by submitting your designs into the awards, you are giving the World Brand Design Society right to use your images for marketing and promotional purposes. The World Brand Design Society may use images in any media publications.

Q11. What are the main actions and deliverables required for submitting an entry for the awards?

Prepare the following material:
- A minimum of 5 images
- A description of your submission
- All listed contributors should be credited for the work
- Make sure you have all social media handles (account names) for all contributors

Q12. Will there be any deadline extensions?

A. No, there will not be any deadline extension beyond the 1st December until 23:59 GMT+0.

Q13. When are the final results presented?

A. Winners works will be presented from the 1st January to the 15th January via all social media channels.

Q13. What does Nominee mean?

All selected Creative work are first nominated in December and are given the title nominee by WBDS Editors and External Judges. It is here where External Judges make their final decisions of what work will receive an award. Creative Black, Gold, Silver, Bronze or Shortlist Awards will be published in January via the WBDS social media channels.

The title 'WBDS Creative Nominee' is not an award that receives a certificate or a trophy. The nomination is a form of recognition as a notable creative work that has been selected by the World Brand Design Society and its External Judges.
